The Open Data Science Conference (ODSC) is an annual event held in Boston, San Francisco, Brazil, London, and India. The ODSC is essential for anyone who wants to connect to the data science community and contribute to the open-source applications it uses every day. Their goal is to bring together the global data science community in an effort to support the exchange of innovation and the growth of open-source software. All attendees have the opportunity to learn the latest in AI and Data Science topics, tools, and languages from the best in the business! Complemented by keynote speakers, workshops, and simultaneous talks, ODSC is one of the largest applied data science conferences in the world.
Although this year’s event was virtual, more than 7,150 people were in attendance and took part which was a major success considering their 2020 event only had about a thousand more people in attendance. The event hosts some of the greatest minds in tech from all over the world including Tallas Chief Technology Officer and co-founder Byron Galbraith who spoke at this year’s event, talking about reinforcement learning for real-world problems, alternatives to RL, and where RL works, and where it doesn’t. At Talla Byron’s work is essential, translating the latest advancements in machine learning and natural language processing to build AI-powered conversational agents. Check out Byron’s talk and learn more about reinforcement learning in the video below!
The next ODSC East is to be held as an in-person event located in Boston MA, sometime in March of 2022. If you are interested in increasing your data science knowledge, training, and networking with peers I would suggest checking out their site to learn more!
